International commercial real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield came to S&C in March 2014 with an urgent request: to promote the firm at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ annual RECon convention in Las Vegas.
The wrinkle? We only had a few weeks. Fortunately, our team (which is comprised entirely of former journalists) is well accustomed to working on deadline. We immediately met with key Cushman stakeholders to identify compelling story concepts and develop market-specific storylines, and then strategically reached out to key reporters around the globe (including the approximately 50 who planned to attend the show) to arrange interviews, set up exclusive invite-only meet-and-greets, and secure placements promoting the firm. These efforts enabled us to garner overwhelmingly positive media coverage of Cushman & Wakefield in an extraordinarily short amount of time – including 16 interviews at RECon and 29 pieces of earned media placed in major national and trade publications, radio, and television.
As a result, we were named the agency of record for Cushman & Wakefield’s retail division. This honor gives us the opportunity to work with Cushman’s brokers – and the journalists who cover them – in every corner of the world to promote the firm’s important work at the intersection of retail and real estate.
